Start with prayer

For Christmas this year I received an antique prayer book. It’s beautiful. It is not only decorative, but it serves a function and has for who knows how many people. Every day we start with prayer in our home and on weekdays with our Men’s prayer group. In the Jewish tradition a prayer is said while one is still in bed when you first wake up. It begins with ‘I thank you living and eternal King’ and ends with ‘Great is Thy faithfulness’. What a way to start the day!  Before you hit the ground running, start with remembering the faithfulness of God. His mercies are new every morning.
